At a glance
The school consists of three courses on applied harmonic analysis and machine learning. Graduate students in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science and Engineering, as well as postdoctoral fellows and young researchers, are welcome.
The school will also feature a one-day workshop with invited speakers and contributed talks/posters. Participants are encouraged to apply.
Limited funding is available to cover local accommodation expenses, up to a maximum of €500 per person. Priority will be given to PhD students and early-career researchers. Reimbursement will be made upon presentation of the accommodation invoice after the school. Please ensure, before booking, that the accommodation provider can issue an invoice in your name.
The school will start on Monday 7th September at 2pm and finish on Friday 11th at 1pm.
The school will take place exclusively in person, it will not be streamed online.
Logistics
The course will take place at MaLGa, hosted within the DIBRIS/DIMA building at the University of Genoa: Via Dodecaneso 35, 16146 Genoa, Italy.

The classes will be conducted by the following leading experts:
Michael Bronstein (University of Oxford): Geometric Deep Learning
Philipp Petersen (University of Vienna): Expressivity of Deep Neural Networks
Clarice Poon (University of Warwick): Inverse Optimal Transport
The courses will consist of both frontal lectures and lab sessions.

Registration Fees
Non UniGe participants are requested to pay a registration fee, depending on their role and affiliation. The registration fee is not refundable. The link for paying the registration fee will be made available in April 2026.
