Announcing JDL 2025: A Journey Through Deep Learning

The MaLGa Center is excited to announce the 2025 edition of A Journey Through Deep Learning (JDL). This 40-hour PhD-level school, scheduled for June 16–20, 2025, offers an in-depth exploration of deep learning principles and applications. JDL is designed for students, postdocs, faculty, and professionals seeking to enhance their understanding of both foundational and advanced aspects of deep learning.

The program covers a range of essential topics, starting with dense neural networks and convolutional neural networks, and progresses to cutting-edge topics such as transformers, generative models, and strategies for addressing dataset bias and data scarcity. Participants will engage in hands-on group projects, consolidating their learning with practical experience and collaborative discussions. The course is led by faculty members and researchers from the MaLGa Center and DIBRIS department, and will be held exclusively in person at the University of Genoa. Desired prerequisites are prior knowledge in linear algebra, probability, calculus, basic machine learning, and Python programming.

Applications are open until March 15, 2025, with notifications of acceptance to be sent by March 30. Registration fees vary depending on role and affiliation, starting at €50.
