Mattia Epifani - Professor of Digital Forensics at UniGE

MaLGa is pleased to host Mattia Epifani, UNIGE alumni and professor of Digital Forensics at UNIGE, partner and founder of REALITY NET and internationally recognized expert in digital forensics, incident response, and mobile security. Mattia regularly works as a forensic analyst and expert witness for courts, prosecutors, law firms, and private companies, and has been an instructor and speaker at major international venues.

The seminar will explore the evolving role of digital forensics in a world increasingly shaped by data, AI, and synthetic media. Together with Mattia, we will discuss how digital evidence is acquired, analyzed, and validated in real investigative settings, and how AI and machine learning are changing forensic workflows and raising new technical, legal, and ethical challenges.

The goal is to provide a multidisciplinary perspective on how modern forensic investigations combine algorithms, tools, legal constraints, and human expertise.
