The relation between the Cahn-Hilliard equation and CMC surfaces

In the talk I will show the links between the Cahn-Hilliard equation -εΔu=ε^(-1) (u-u3)-l_ε,l_ε∈R, and constant mean curvature surfaces. In particular, I will present a paper in which I constructed a family of entire solutions in R^3 whose zero level set approaches, as ε → 0, a given complete, embedded, k-ended constant mean curvature surface. It is a joint work with Michal Kowalczyk. Moreover, I will discuss some classification results about the same equation.
